The mission of the California Coastal Commission is:

Mission: “To preserve and restore the biodiversity and health of California’s coastal and marine ecosystems.”

The California Coastal Commission (CCC) operates its model Community-Based Restoration and Education Program here at Upper Newport Bay, performing actual habitat restoration and providing “Digging In” workshops for non-profits and other organizations that have established or would like to establish community-based restoration programs.
