Some Common Plants of Upper Newport Bay

Western Ragweed  (Ambrosia psilostachya)
Plant: Perennial herb, erect, covered with short stiff hairs, 2 to 4 feet tall.  Aromatic.  Common.
Flowers: Flower heads in long raceme.  Male and female flowers separate but on same plant.
Leaf: Opposite on stems 1-1/2 to 5 inches long, with short stem.
Flowering period:   July to November
