Watson's Saltbush  (Atriplex watsonii)
Plant: Sprawling perennial forming tangled mats 3 to 9 feet across, white scaly.
Flowers: Male and female on separate plants, inconspicuous, in small clumps, Male in terminal spikes, female  in leaf axils.
Leaf: Numerous mostly opposite on stems, broadly elliptic to oval, thick, smooth margined, 1/4 to 1 inches long light green.
Flowering period:   Spring to Fall
Use by Indians:  
Can be found here: Shellmaker Island, Back Bay Drive between San Joaquin Hills Drive and Big Canyon
