Plant: A freely branching tree that grows to 30 feet tall.
Flowers: White, about 5/16 inch across in large terminal bunches.
Berries: Bright red in wintertime.
Leaf: Oblong, 2 to 4 inches long, sharply toothed, tough, leathery, dark green above and lighter below.
Flowering period:
June to July
Use by Indians:
Roasted berries over hot coals or cooked in cooking basket and eaten.
