Some Common Plants of Upper Newport Bay

Statice, Winged Sea Lavender (Limonium sinuatum)
Plant: Perennial woody herb 1 to 3 feet tall covered with stiff hairs.  Native to the Mediterranean.
Flowers: Small, blue flower clusters on tall stalks.
Leaf: Rosette of lobes basal blades is tapered from  1 to 6 inches long.  Stem leaves are linear.
Flowering period:   June to October
