Some Common Plants of Upper Newport Bay

Pink Everlasting  (Gnaphalium ramosissimum)
Plant: Biennial herb with 1 to several slender, erect branches, green and somewhat downy, sweet scented, 1-1/2 to 4 feet tall.  
Flowers: on inflorescence to 12 inches long. Small flowers with pink bracts.
Leaf: Alternate on stems, linear with wavy margins. 1-1/4 to 2-1/4 inches long, green both above and below.
Flowering period:   March to October
Can be found here: Back Bay Drive  near salt dike.
