Some Common Plants of Upper Newport Bay

Cocklebur  (Xanthium strumarium)

Leaf:  Heart shaped, 4 inches long, green on both sides.  Irregularly toothed, thick and sandpapery.  Leaf stems are about the same length as the leaves.
