Plant: Annual, branched at the base, trailing on the ground, 4 to 16 inches long.
Flowers: 2 to 5 on auxiliary 1 inch stems, yellow. Pod is spirally coiled with 2 rows of hooked prickles rising from the outer edge.
Leaf: Alternate on stems, three oval leaflets, finely toothed, 3/8 to 3/4 inch long.
