Alkali Weed (Cressa truxillensis)
Plant: Low branching perennial herb that colonizes an area where alkali soils exist.  Erect stems to 10 inches tall.  Dies back to perennial root in autum.
Flowers:  Small, 1/4 inch across, white, solitary in the upper axils. Five fused petals covered with fine hairs.
Leaf: Oblong, hairy, alternating on the stems, 3/8 inch long.
Flowering period:   May to October
