State Street IMS and State Street Foundation have been fantastic
supporters of the education and restoration efforts at Upper Newport
Bay for many years. They have funded important items such as a
restoration tool
trailer, and volunteers from their Irvine office regularly join us
for restoration and cleanup events. Now, thanks to a generous grant from State
Street, we are able to offer field trips to over 600
disadvantaged high school students at no charge. During the trips
the students spend a couple of hours paddling outrigger canoes in
the Upper Bay and get to see birds such as the great blue heron,
great egret, black skimmer, brown pelican and least tern up
close.
